On my drive to work today I became frustrated with a few of the local radio stations. Today is the 8th anniversary of Columbine and a day of mourning for the VT students, yet half the radio stations I listened to didn’t mention either of these things. Instead everything was about the 4/20 “holiday” and all the parties going on around town to celebrate it. I thought it was especially tacking considering these radio stations are based in CO and they couldn’t take a second to acknowledge either schools.
I’ll be the first to admit that I have issues with people who use drugs. Especially those over the age of 16. Grow up. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m so tired of all the jokes about drug use on tv and the radio. Do adults really find it funny? I just don’t get it.
I know that life goes on, and I don’t care if you don’t acknowledge the two school tragedies today, but don’t make it a celebration of something that wasn’t even cool in high school let alone for middle aged dj’s.
